Reunion Drastically Changed

Only 16 people ordered tickets before the ticket price jump on September 15th. We estimated a much larger number when choosing the price. The cost to use the space divided by too few people means that the ticket price would be too low cover the actual costs of food, tax, room fees, gratuity, etc. I used my own money for the deposit and have been floating it since April. It was too stressful hoping that 50 more people would buy tickets in three weeks.

So we are going a different route.

After asking around, the cost seemed to be the biggest reason why people weren't going. Now we are refunding everyone's money and doing something much lower key and much, much cheaper. We are having it in the courtyard of the baseball fields at Westwood. Press food truck will be there for you to purchase food and we'll have tables and chairs set up. We are asking you to put $5 in when you get there to help us recoup our money spent on invitations, the ramada, and various costs of a fun party.  It's not going to be formal, just come as you are. I'm going to be dressy casual since I need something to brace myself against lingering high school insecurities, but if you swing by in your work uniform no one will be judging you. Please RSVP on the facebook event page so we can estimate how many people are coming.

I know this won't please everyone. Many of you are probably thinking it is stupid and that it's going to be lame. A bunch are probably going to be pissed off about it. But you know what, it's not where we have it or what we eat that makes the reunion fun. It's the people. Yes, we have facebook and maybe you can meet up with the people you care to see anytime, but how often are you really going to?

Come join us. Have some real conversations face-to-face. We want you there. We want to see you. We want to see phone pictures of your kids or your wedding or to hear about your job or your last vacation. We want to relive some old memories and make some new ones, rejoicing that we are not the exact same people we were at 17. Get the people you want to see and have them meet you there.

Come. We're going to have some fun.
